Stakra is a habit-staking and accountability platform. Users set goals, stake real money on those goals, and—depending on the outcome—funds are either returned to the user or sent in part to selected charities and in part to Stakra as a platform fee.

2. Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Account means a unique account created for you to access the Service.
Application means the Stakra mobile app and any related software we provide.
Device means any device that can access the Service such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Personal Data means any information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service Providers means third-party companies or individuals that process data on our behalf to help us provide the Service (e.g., hosting, payments).
Usage Data means data collected automatically when you use the Service (for example, log data and device information).

3. Who Can Use Stakra (Age Requirements)
Our Service is intended only for individuals 16 years of age or older.
We do not knowingly allow individuals under 16 to create accounts, add payment methods, stake money, or use any wallet features. If we learn that someone under 16 has created an account or used our financial features, we will take steps to close the account and delete or anonymize the relevant data, unless we are required by law to retain it.

4. Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you use Stakra.
4.1. Information You Provide Directly

Password or authentication credentials (stored in hashed form where applicable)
Country or time zone (if you choose to provide it)
Goal, Contract, and Evidence Information
Goals and habits you create
Stake amounts and contract details
Preferred charities or recipients for forfeited stakes
Photos, screenshots, or other evidence you upload as proof of habit completion
Support & Communications
Messages and emails you send to us (e.g., support requests, feedback)
Other information you choose to provide in surveys, forms, or in-app feedback
4.2. Financial Information and Wallet Balance
When you add money to your Stakra wallet or withdraw funds, we work with a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe):
We do not store your full credit or debit card number on our servers.
Stripe may provide us with limited payment information such as:
The last four digits of your card
Card type and expiration month/year
A transaction ID or token
We store and process:
Your Stakra wallet balance
Deposits, stakes, forfeits, withdrawals, platform fees, and donation transactions
The charities or recipients you select for forfeited stakes
Your wallet balance represents real money held on your behalf for the sole purposes of:
Returning funds to you when you successfully complete a goal
Sending funds to your selected charities and our platform fee when you do not complete a goal
Withdrawing remaining balance to your payment method or another supported payout method
Stakra does not sell digital goods, “coins”, or premium features in exchange for your wallet funds.
4.3. Health and Fitness Data (Apple Health, Google Fit, etc.)
With your explicit permission, Stakra may connect to health and fitness services on your Device, such as Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, or similar providers.
If you enable these connections, we may collect:
Step counts
Distance walked or run
Workout sessions and activity summaries
Other health or activity metrics you explicitly allow Stakra to access
We use this health and fitness data only to:
Verify whether you have met certain activity-based goals you set (for example, walking a specific number of steps or completing a workout)
Provide progress summaries and habit-tracking insights inside the app
We do not:
Use health data for targeted advertising
Sell health or fitness data to third parties
You can disable access to health services at any time via your Device settings. After you disconnect, we will no longer receive new health data, though we may retain existing records as part of your account history unless you request deletion (see Section 10).
4.4. Usage Data and Device Information
When you use the Service, certain information is collected automatically, including:
IP address
Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
App version, language, and time zone
Dates and times of access
Pages, screens, or features used; time spent in the app
Crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics
We use this Usage Data primarily to maintain and improve the Service, troubleshoot bugs, and protect against fraud or abuse.

6.1. Service Providers
We share information with third parties that help us provide the Service, including:
Supabase – authentication, database storage, and file storage
Stripe (or another payment processor) – payment processing, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers
Cloud hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, and other infrastructure services
These providers act as our data processors and are only allowed to use your information as needed to perform services on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
6.2. Charities and Beneficiaries
When you fail a contract and your stake is allocated to a charity or other recipient you selected:
We share only the information necessary to complete the transfer (for example, transaction amount and any required payment reference).
We do not share your password or detailed account credentials.
6.3. Business Transfers
If Stakra is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, financing, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We will use reasonable efforts to require the new entity to honor this Privacy Policy or provide you notice before the policy changes.
6.4. Legal Compliance and Protection
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:
Comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process

If you request deletion of your Account, we will delete or anonymize your Personal Data, unless we are required or permitted by law to retain certain information (for example, transaction records for tax or anti-fraud purposes).

Update certain account details directly in the app.
Disconnect health integrations via your Device settings.
Opt out of non-essential emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages (note: you cannot opt out of important transactional or security emails).

11. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Service may contain links to websites, apps, or services that are not operated by Stakra (for example, charity websites, documentation, or third-party resources). If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.
We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
